Escaping the Typhoon

Well, I did not go to Mitsutooge. Instead I went to Meiji Jingu which has a wonderful garden, especially the inner one, and a Shinto shrine.

On Monday, after the con finished, we took some pictures of Nippon Maru and then left for Togos flagship Mikasa. An impressive, and unique, ship and it was amusing to note that the shop of the ship sold Finnish beer Amiraali which has Togo in the label.

Yesterday we visited Kamakura which was the capital more than a century around 1100. A buddhist temple, a former nunnery, another buddhist temple and then a hike to Daibutsu, the Great Buddha. After that we went to Enoshima, a sea side resort near Kamakura. I hope that some of the hawk pictures are good.

A typhoon will probably hit Tokyo in a few days. Today it was raining and we escaped to Matsumoto where there is one of the four castles which are National Treasures of Japan. The castle was wort of its fame and I was lucky and a volunteer guide came to me and said that he would very much like to be my guide. So we got a very personal presentation of Matsumoto-jo.

Tomorrow welll head for Kyoto, Hiroshima and Kure. We escape the rains. Maybe when well return the typhoon will be in full rage over Tokyo.
